Traveler: Another thriller that begins with a spectacular bang, as two friends decide on a lark to skate their way through a museum in New York, and then are suspected when the building is bombed by terrorists. The series follows them on the run.
In Case of Emergency: A host of familiar names will populate this comedy in which four friends wind up in the emergency room on the same day and realize that they have traveled an unusual path since their friendship began in the late 1980's. The stars are Jonathan Silverman of The Single Guy, David Arquette of the Scream movies, Greg Germann of Ally McBeal and Lori Loughlin of Full House.
New for Fall:
Brothers and Sisters: A family saga about the March family, whose siblings, led by Ms. Flockhart, are forced to take over the family business after the death of their father. Rachel Griffiths of "Six Feet Under" plays one sister.
Notes from the Underbelly: A comedy based on a novel by Risa Green about a young wife dealing with a pregnancy she never wanted because of her job working with obnoxious children at a prep school. It stars Jennifer Westfeldt, who played Jessica Stein in "Kissing Jessica Stein."
Six Degrees: A new soap that will chronicle six strangers in New York, whose lives intersect through coincidences that may not be happenstance. The cast is mostly young newcomers to television.
Ugly Betty: Based on one of the most famous of the Spanish-language telenovelas, about a woman who is hired to work as the assistant to the son of the publisher of a flashy fashion magazine primarily because no one thinks she looks good enough for the son to chase her romantically. Salma Hayek is a producer of the show and will make occasional appearances.
Men in Trees: A relationship-based drama starring Anne Heche as an author who quits a speaking engagement in Alaska after being dumped by her fiancé and finds herself happy to be stuck in a snowstorm with lots of available men.
The Nine: A thriller that begins with nine people forced to endure a two-day standoff as hostages in a bank robbery that goes wrong. The live-changing experience haunts them and bonds them.
Day Break: The third new thriller in ABC's lineup. It combines elements of The Fugitive and Groundhog Day. Taye Diggs of Kevin Hill plays a detective falsely accused of shooting a prosecutor. He goes on the run and tries to learn who is framing him, abetted by the sudden development that every day he wakes to the same day — and he remembers the incidents of the previous same day.
Big Day : This comedy will devote all 22 episodes to the events of a single wedding day of a young couple, complete with the usual disasters involving catering and photography. The show will star Marla Sokoloff (familiar as the annoying receptionist from The Practice) and Wendie Malick of Just Shoot Me and many other comedies.
Help Me Help You: Ted Danson will play a self-obsessed psychiatrist with a string of self-help best sellers in this comedy, which will concentrate on one therapy group.
The Knights of Prosperity: Donal Logue leads a band of misfits planning to rob Mick Jagger, who cameos as himself and also gets executive producer status.

New for Fall:
Shark: James Woods stars in this new drama about a onetime celebrity defense lawyer who has an epiphany about his role in the justice system and becomes a prosecutor, relying on all the tricks he previously employed to help clients escape justice. Jeri Ryan, of Star Trek fame, also stars and Spike Lee directed the pilot.
Smith: A drama about a gang of thieves who stage elaborate heists in search of a big score that will allow all of them to go straight. Ray Liotta and Virginia Masden are the stars, supported by Simon Baker, who previously starred for CBS in The Guardian. The show was created by John Wells, of ER and The West Wing.
Jericho: A post-nuclear disaster saga about some mysterious events in a small town in Kansas, which finds itself apparently on the edge of the apocalypse. Skeet Ulrich is the star.
The Class: A comedy about a group of 20-something friends, who met in the third grade and reunite at a party. The show will trace their different paths to where they now are in life. The large ensemble cast is led by Jason Ritter, who was a regular on Joan of Arcadia. David Crane, a writer from Frasier, is in charge.

The Winner: A comedy starring Rob Corddry as a man hitting his 40's who looks back fondly on the year 1994, when life seemed more exciting. The show was written by Seth MacFarlane, who created the hit Family Guy for Fox.
The Wedding Album: A drama about a wedding planner who directs a high-profile New York wedding in each episode aided by a young woman, the photographer.
New for Fall:
'Til Death: Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond) and Joely Fisher (Desperate Housewives) star as a couple whose long, fractious marriage stands in stark contrast to the starry-eyed newlyweds next door.
Happy Hour: A comedy about two roommates in Chicago, in which one tries to bring the other out of his depression after a relationship goes bad.
Vanished: A serialized thriller that traces, throughout the season, the mysterious disappearance of the young wife of a United States senator. Ming-Na of ER stars.
Standoff: A new drama about a pair of F.B.I. hostage negotiators who become linked romantically and are allowed to keep working as a team because they are so good at their jobs. Ron Livingston is one of the stars.
Justice: A Jerry Bruckheimer-produced drama about a team of lawyers with an expertise in forensics.
NBC
Cancelled: Too many to name individually, but they include Joey, Fear Factor, every new series from last fall and last January except My Name is Earl and Deal or No Deal.
Midseason: Medium and Scrubs are on tap as midseason (or sooner) replacements. The Apprentice returns at the conclusion of the football season. New shows expected after football concludes include:
America's Got Talent: a variety show hosted by Regis Philbin and produced by Simon Cowell.
Raines:
a police drama starring Jeff Goldblum as a Los Angeles detective.
Andy Barker, P.I.: A new show starrign Andy Richter as an accountant turned detective. Co-written by Richter's old late-night boss, Conan O'Brien.
The Singles Table: a midseason comedy built around a group of singles who are seated together at a wedding.
New for Fall:
The Black Donnellys: An Irish mob drama from Crash director Paul Haggis.
Heroes: A high school cheerleader learns that she is totally indestructible. No one-trick pony, this hourlong drama about ordinary people discovering their inner Superman and Wonder Woman, also promises a stripper ( Final Destination 's Ali Larter) who "uncovers that her mirror has a secret."
Kidnapped: Prison Break meets Dynasty in this hourlong thriller about the abduction of a teen-aged boy, and focusing on his well-to-do Manhattan family, his kidnappers and his would-be saviors in law enforcement. Timothy Hutton and Dana Delany head the ensemble cast.
Friday Night Lights: An hourlong drama inspired by the 2004 football film of the same name.
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: Matthew Perry and West Wing alum Bradley Whitford play producers of a popular, late-night comedy show comedy sketch show. One of two shows seemingly about SNL on this fall's schedule. Aaron Sorkin, of West Wing and Sports Night, returns to write and produce the show.
30 Rock: SNL head writer Tina Fey plays the head writer of "a frenetic television variety show." Frequent SNL guest host Alec Baldwin costars, as do SNL regulars Rachel Dratch and Tracy Morgan. NBC said it was not known yet if Fey and Dratch will continue to work on the show that actually is called SNL. One of two shows seemingly about SNL on this fall's schedule.
20 Good Years: In this "high-energy romp" of a sitcom, John Lithow, 60, and Jeffrey Tambor, 61, play friends who optimistically estimate they have two solid decades left to change their lives.
