Well, I promised two updates on the 16th, but I missed the deadline by almost five hours.  Oh well, other things came up.  Tomorrow (today) I have a lot of work to do.  More than I care to do.  Probably more than I will bother to do.  It doesn't bode well when I'm already trying to decide what I'm not going to do tomorrow (467).  If I'm lucky, tonight will be repeated soon.  (More on what happened tonight in a few days, when I will have a better grasp of how long this will last.  Hopefully a long time.  Hopefully forever.  But nothing lasts forever.)

the wind chill right now is -33 degrees.  that is very very cold.

anyway, guess who wasted his entire saturday?  yeah, dont ask me what happened.  it was not a sound decision.  Ive decided the only thing I can do now is stay up the entire night and all of tomorrow.  (probably another not-so-sound decision.)  but I see no other option. that is the only way I will be able to get everything done, and it is the only way I will get my sleep schedule back to normal by monday.  so I really have to try.  its very important I not get sleepy and go to bed.  and no naps either.  I must not sleep again for at least 16 hours.

(sigh.. dave is going to find this very amusing when he wakes up and finds me sleeping.  ...damn it, quit laughing and wake me up; I have work to do.)

I have been sleeping strangely.  not restfully at all, and with lots of dreams.  I feel so tired right now.  I have a lot to do, and I am not sure I care.  I just need to keep focused.  three more days, and then everything will be all right.

this is probably a hard week for everybody.

Half my finals are over, and I can't wait to finish this semester up.  That's actually a bad thing; I'm blowing off assignments like crazy, just because I'm burnt out and would rather watch the entire Real World New Orleans series than do any legitimate work.  Of course, I'm not the only one. michael's tech writing paper is a week overdue, and Phil apparently has a number of papers that he hasn't done.  There must be something in the air of suite 2020, because only Scott seems unaffected (although, now that I think about it, he's been playing a lot of Super Nintendo).

It's 4:45am, and I'm not very sleepy.  This is very odd, as I got less than 2 hours of sleep last night.  I would go into the reason, but I'm afraid that if I start talking about it, this entry would go on for pages and pages.  Let's just say that I felt "ill."

(Neither of us managed to post yesterday because of 201 studying.  Sorry.  I'll make up for it by posting an extra entry later today.  'Night.)

Im sleepy. its eight ayem, and I have been working on a tech writing project all night.  I dont know if Im going to get it done in time or not.  I suppose I should be worried, but Im not.  I just want to go to sleep.  I wont, though.  I will stay up and work.  its hard, though.  I cant concentrate at all.  Ive been kind of preoccupied lately.  I dont know.

dave will make fun of me if I dont get this tech writing paper done tonight, so I really need to get back to it.  also, if I dont get it done tonight I will drop from an A to a B.  and I really dont get enough A's, so I shouldnt let that happen.

( I wonder if a little nap would hurt anything... )

the weather said it might snow tonight, but it didnt.  I would have liked if it had.  Im sort of in the mood for snow.  oh well.  they say it might still snow tomorrow.  that would be very nice, I think.

I love winter.  not because of snow, really.  (although I do like snow.)  its more the air, I think.  something about cold air and grey skies.  sometimes I wish there were I way I could just be swallowed up by it.  I dont know.  I think maybe Im weird.

Im going to go take a walk now.  and then sleep, I guess, since its five in the morning.  god I have a lot to do tomorrow.  ksjdflkjslkjflskjdfl

this really hasnt been the best week.

I should be in bed now, as it is 3:32am. Instead, I have chosen to write to you, faithful reader.  I made this decision with your best interests at heart.  I put your wants and needs before my own. This should make you very happy.  Now that you know the sacrifices I am making for you, reading this post should be the highlight of your day.

Phil told me today that building a backdoor into my same game to ensure that I could always get a high score would be unfulfilling, as I would get more pleasure out of writing a program that others are better at than me.  I find it hard to believe that Phil knows me better than I know myself (I almost wrote "...that Phil knows what gives me pleasure," but I caught myself in time), so I don't really see how this argument makes sense.  Nonetheless, it did spark another argument in our suite: Is it acceptable to use cheats when playing games?  I think so, mainly because I don't like losing.  michael, who calls himself a "game purist," disagrees.  Tell us what you think.

michael finished his Tetris game today, and it looks very cool.  You should email him and tell him to post a copy.

How cold is it here? Well, the inside of my window is covered with ice.  If I didn't have a curtain (well, shower curtain, but that's another story) hanging infront of my window, I wouldn't be able to sit at my computer because of the draught.  I have every intention of staying in my room until 4pm today, when I need to go do 101 stuff on campus.  It's just too cold to bother going outside for anything that isn't obligatory.

On an entirely different subject, I've finished my final project for CS306 (by finished, I mean done enough to turn in).  My final project was to implement Clickomania!, a.k.a. the Same Game, in MS-DOS® assembly.  You can try my program if you'd like.  Just click here to download it.  In an effort to improve the program, I am paying $1 to every person to report a previously unreported bug, and $1 to anyone who suggests any cool improvements that I haven't already thought of.  If you want to participate, email me with your bug report / improvement idea.  This policy will continue for an arbitrary amount of time, and then stop without warning.  Much like this log entry.

hi. this is michael. I represent one half of negative273. Ill try to post fairly regularly. that seems to be the most important aspect of maintaining a good weblog. so Ill try, at least.

anyway, introductions are kind of tough to write, and a little pointless. but I feel obligated to say a little about myself. at least to finish what dave started. he was pretty much on target with the television and internet browsing. except I also draw, and I write some. and I take a lot of walks. basically Im very boring.

as for dave, he is also a computer science major at washington university in st. louis. he is also in his junior year. in his free time he enjoys watching television, browsing the internet, and playing super nintendo.

okay. I think thats all I have to say right now.

michael is busy watching Malcolm in the Middle, so it looks like I get to be the first to post something here on negative273.com. Perhaps I'll take this opportunity to provide some background on myself, michael, and this site.Me first. My name is David Warner, and I like milk.

Now some info on michaeldixon. michael is a Computer Science major at Washington University in St. Louis, where he is in his junior year. In his free time he enjoys . . . well, not much really. He likes watching TV. And browsing the 'net. And sleeping. Perhaps he will post a better bio of himself in the future.

Finally, some info about the site. As you've probably guessed, this is a weblog. We got the idea to hold the weblog a few nights ago, when we stayed up very late, and, perhaps hallucinating because of lack of food, decided that we could make a better weblog than nickd. Half-an-hour later, we had registered a domain name. . .
