David is an occasional blogger, software engineer, Nintendo fanboy, liberal, news magazine addict, voracious TiVo user, and bibliophile. He was born in St. Louis, grew up in southern Indiana, and returned to St. Louis to attend Washington University. He hasn't managed to escape yet. He's a fan of free wine tastings, too many tv shows to name, and eating out. David makes his living developing web applications used internally by his employer. He doesn't blog about work because he's heard too many stories about that causing workplace troubles. There's more on the about page. |

Summer Television
The summer is traditionally a bad season for TV viewers. The big networks resort to reruns until their September debuts, with only new reality fare on broadcast TV. Which means cable is where all the good shows are this summer. Gail Pennington had a long article in the paper last week detailing all the summer shows. Below are the shows from her list that I'll be watching.
- "Pirate Master" 7 p.m. Thursday, CBS
- "Hell's Kitchen" 8 p.m. Monday, Fox
- "John From Cincinnati" 9 p.m. June 10, HBO
- "Big Love" June 11, HBO
- "Kyle XY" June 11, ABC Family
- "Top Chef: Miami" June 13, Bravo
- "Hex" June 14, BBC America
- "Meadowlands" 9 p.m. June 17, Showtime
- "The Closer" June 18, TNT
- "Eureka" July 10, Sci-Fi
- "Saving Grace" 9 p.m. July 18, TNT
- "Damages" 9 p.m. July 24, FX
