David is an occasional blogger, software engineer, Nintendo fanboy, liberal, news magazine addict, voracious TiVo user, and bibliophile. He was born in St. Louis, grew up in southern Indiana, and returned to St. Louis to attend Washington University. He hasn't managed to escape yet. He's a fan of free wine tastings, too many tv shows to name, and eating out. David makes his living developing web applications used internally by his employer. He doesn't blog about work because he's heard too many stories about that causing workplace troubles. There's more on the about page. |

This house is on Sappington in Oakland, near my grandmother's church. For reasons that aren't entirely clear to me, some effort was apparently spent to marry the two portions of the building so that the portion on the right slopes upward from the point where it joins the main house. Looking at this house reminds me of those perspective rooms at childrens' museums with the sloping floors. But why would you want to live in a house like that?

We have a friend who lives around the corner from the "tilted house" and she tells us a builder lives there and wanted it to look that way. Inside it's not tilted of course...
