From the new Chrysler ad:

...and Dodge trucks last as long as the dee oh double jizzle.
I'd seen this ad at least a dozen times before I realized just how inappropriate this line is.

I got this in the mail more than a year ago and only recently came across it again. There are two very amusing things about this mailing based entirely on the envelope. I've never actually opened it, so there might be more amusement inside, but that will have to wait for another day.

Aqualung is playing at Blueberry Hill on September 7. I may have to break my "I don't go to concerts because I don't like standing for hours on end and listening horrible opening bands" rule and see this show.

Looking at this house reminds me of those perspective rooms at childrens' museums with the sloping floors. But why would you want to live in a house like that?

I just tried Diet Pepsi Lime for the first time. I don't think I'll be trying it again.

I've been having Internet connectivity problems at home, so it amused me to see Charter describe their Internet service this way on their website:

I have to agree with them. The "High-Speed" is quite questionable.

I'm pretty sure this is a work post I can get away with. I emptied out my pockets at work today and discovered that I carry about 8,000 things around with me during the day.

Charlie thinks there is some risk involved in posting things, even fairly obfuscated things, about work. He makes a pretty good case, so my work-related entry has been relegated to draft status while I contemplate this. Better safe than sorry, I guess. It would be nice if mt had livejournal-esque private entries, but it doesn't, so I'll have to think about how to deal with this. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

Man, I have totally neglected this blog of late. I have been pretty diligent about updating the sidebar though. I added a new feature, the daily links, that are simply links to page I've found while browsing. And I reworked the flickr stuff to only display my most recent "best of" photos on this page.

Anyway, since most of what I do is work, I think I'm going to do a series of posts about work. I'm going to be careful here and not give too much aside from general impressions away, but I have two topics in mind. The first one (which I'll be posting as soon as this is done) will discuss how to be a highly skilled, but ultimately unsuccessful software engineer. (Hint: there are some things that are more important than an in-depth knowledge of the latest open-source framework). I think I'll also put up a post on how to run an unsuccessful project. (Hint: gathering requirements is the key to success.)

As I was typing this I had two of my afternoon meetings canceled, so I might have time to also throw out some details about the Great Roommate Swap of 2005. But maybe I should do the work that I'm getting paid to do instead.
