Will I get in any trouble if I take some pictures in a semi-public (i.e., privately owned but still public) place like a mall? Or is it best just to limit myself to outside shots?

I recall seeing a sign in one of the Westfield properties that it was not allowed without prior consent. I also believe something similar is written in the little "Rules of the Mall" brochure you'll find in the info/mall map kiosks at the Galleria.

I've read various accounts of amateur photographers being harassed by mall security employees with power trips and nothing better to do, so honestly it's not something I'd bother with inside.

All I know is I was snapping pictures on the sly in the Galleria for a school project and got at the very least some odd glares from security, but then again that was 10 years ago back before you're assumed to be a terrorist.
