20 January 2005 - 4:40 pm

Today was, in some ways, a very sucky day. I avoided reading the news all day because I knew it would set me off. However, toward the end of a slow day at work I gave up and loaded a news site in my browser. I didn't make it past the lede of the major news of the day before I got really pissed. I hammered out an angry email as a way of venting but it didn't help. So I shut things down and just went home.

I've come to believe that when Bush talks about "a mission to spread liberty to every region of the globe" that he's telling us he plans to invade more countries. This might be totally inaccurate, but he's used code words and phrases before and this doesn't take mush thought to decipher.

In hindsight the invasion of Iraq looks like a big mistake, but apparently the leader of my country doesn't agree and that worries me. A lot.

Still somewhat groggy yesterday morning when I got into my car, I didn't quite comprehend why NPR was playing weird music. Then a voice said Rehnquist was about to speak, I realized what yesterday was, and any trace of grogginess was replaced by a seething anger and sadness. Lots of hard work and watching massive waves on the beach cleared that up.
