It appears that there's a significant correlation between being a CS nerd and playing the trombone. It turns out that Chris, Charlie, and I all played the trombone in the past. However, the reverse is not true. I've known a lot of trombone players, and most of them are not CS nerds. But now that I've discovered this weirdness about trombones, I'm wondering what instruments everyone else plays. Leave me a comment and let me know.

Similarly, various saxaphones & clarinets. You havn't known joy until you've played an e flat soprano clarinet...um...or not.

Trombone, guitar, piano. And oddly enough most of the trombone players in my middle school band (my high school didn't have one) were computer-ly inclined.

alto sax. however, the trombone players did sit right behind me in school band...

Just piano for 12 years. I went to an all-girls Catholic high school -- no one played trombone. Then again, we didn't have a CS curriculum, either. Hmm!

In band I played french horn. I also took piano lessons for... 14 years or so? I also might have played flute for a while in band, but I don't usually like to admit to that.

Isn't there anyone around here who *doesn't* play any instruments? Damn overachievers.

I say, never trust an instrument that changes shape in the middle of a performance.

Heh, my boyfriend is a huge cs nerd, and he definitely plays trombone - and plays it well. He's not here, though - he goes to Purdue. He also plays piano, too, however, and composes music. I play clarinet and alto sax...
