David is an occasional blogger, software engineer, Nintendo fanboy, liberal, news magazine addict, voracious TiVo user, and bibliophile. He was born in St. Louis, grew up in southern Indiana, and returned to St. Louis to attend Washington University. He hasn't managed to escape yet. He's a fan of free wine tastings, too many tv shows to name, and eating out. David makes his living developing web applications used internally by his employer. He doesn't blog about work because he's heard too many stories about that causing workplace troubles. There's more on the about page. |

Lucas has some harsh words for Bill Walton, but the people at slate seem to have a slightly different opinion on him. I think I'm with slate on Bill Walton, but I'm in total agreement with Lucas's evaluation of the NBA. The NBA is infuriating to watch because the refs could call a foul on just about every play, but seem to just make arbitrary decisions about when they're going to call them. And then there's the whole issue about making fewer calls during the playoffs and "letting the players play." If it's a foul during the regular season, shouldn't it be a foul during the playoffs?
