David is an occasional blogger, software engineer, Nintendo fanboy, liberal, news magazine addict, voracious TiVo user, and bibliophile. He was born in St. Louis, grew up in southern Indiana, and returned to St. Louis to attend Washington University. He hasn't managed to escape yet. He's a fan of free wine tastings, too many tv shows to name, and eating out. David makes his living developing web applications used internally by his employer. He doesn't blog about work because he's heard too many stories about that causing workplace troubles. There's more on the about page. |

My computer here at work has lately been struggling to run all the apps that I need to run. Once I get Visual InterDev, Internet Explorer, SQL Server Enterprise Manager, and occasionally Excel open, its 128MB of RAM just can't keep up. This morning I thought that perhaps a trip to Windows Update might help things out. Well, 20 critical updates later, things seem to be going pretty well, but the only app I have open now is IE. I don't really think things are going to be any better once I get into development mode, but I can hope. And perhaps lobby for a bit more RAM for this guy.
