James and I had the pleasure of seeing the Cytron on Ice Extravaganza tonight. For those of you not in the loop, Ron Cytron is one of the CS professors here at WashU, and for reasons known only to him, he has taken to playing beginner's hockey at the Webster Groves Recreation Center.

It was a pretty good game. We came in halfway through the first period, because we'd had a bit of difficulty finding the place, and the Blast already had two goals. Not long after we got there, the Blast got a third goal. James claims that Dr. Cytron made the goal, but I didn't see it so that's only hearsay. Regardless, the Blast were up 4 to nothing at the beginning of the third period and everything was looking good. But the Eagles came storming back in the fourth, scoring three goals (one on a power play), and things were kinda close. But the Blast held on despite for the win despite the slightly rougher aspect (more checks -- even though they're not allowed, helmets knocked off, etc.) of the third period.

Dr. Cytron didn't slam anyone into the boards or anything, so we were a bit disappointed in that regard. But all told, a very entertaining evening.
