David is an occasional blogger, software engineer, Nintendo fanboy, liberal, news magazine addict, voracious TiVo user, and bibliophile. He was born in St. Louis, grew up in southern Indiana, and returned to St. Louis to attend Washington University. He hasn't managed to escape yet. He's a fan of free wine tastings, too many tv shows to name, and eating out. David makes his living developing web applications used internally by his employer. He doesn't blog about work because he's heard too many stories about that causing workplace troubles. There's more on the about page. |

my dad made me a little angry tonight. while we were eating dessert "60 minutes" was on in the background, and they were doing a segment on arab-americans and how the aftermath of the recent terrorist attacks has affected them. my father did not approve of their appeals for an end to anti-arab sentiment in this country. he stated that instead of speaking out against prejudice, they had a responsibility, being arabs, to denounce the attacks and to do everything in their power to uncover the terrorist network in the united states. he reasoned that those people know people who know people who have ties to the attacks, and because of this, they have a responsibility to find osama bin ladens u.s. affiliates. I tried to argue that most arabs (and by "most" I mean "nearly all") in this country have no clue who is behind this nor do they have any clue how to find them. but apparently, according to him, all americans with middle-eastern lineage (including those who are neither arab nor muslim) are required to clear their names now by unrooting the enemy amongst us. sigh..
Ill have to ask artemis how the manhunts going.
