David is an occasional blogger, software engineer, Nintendo fanboy, liberal, news magazine addict, voracious TiVo user, and bibliophile. He was born in St. Louis, grew up in southern Indiana, and returned to St. Louis to attend Washington University. He hasn't managed to escape yet. He's a fan of free wine tastings, too many tv shows to name, and eating out. David makes his living developing web applications used internally by his employer. He doesn't blog about work because he's heard too many stories about that causing workplace troubles. There's more on the about page. |

My computer has developed a nasty rattle, and it is driving me insane. I have to keep my foot against the case all the time or I get headaches. So my task for this evening is to take the computer apart and see if I can eliminate the rattle.
Oh, and I might order a laptop tonight, if Dell's webpage stops acting stupid. If I select a DVD drive and WinXP Pro, it tells they're incompatible and I have to select the 16x CD-RW/DVD combo drive, a $379 increase. Then when I select it I get, you guessed it, a compatibility issue and it tells me to select the DVD drive. I hate them.
