David is an occasional blogger, software engineer, Nintendo fanboy, liberal, news magazine addict, voracious TiVo user, and bibliophile. He was born in St. Louis, grew up in southern Indiana, and returned to St. Louis to attend Washington University. He hasn't managed to escape yet. He's a fan of free wine tastings, too many tv shows to name, and eating out. David makes his living developing web applications used internally by his employer. He doesn't blog about work because he's heard too many stories about that causing workplace troubles. There's more on the about page. |

today has been a busy day. I have spent way too long, however, trying to get my ethernet set up. I talked to restech today, and supposedly I should have been able to be up and running by the end of the day. they switched to a dynamic ip assignment, so all I should need to do is change a few setting and plug into the wall. only that doesnt work. I went back over there and talked to them, and they informed me that millbrook 2 hadnt been turned on yet but that they would turn it on right then. so I went back to my room and tried again, and I got nothing. Im going to be busy tomorrow, so I was hoping I could get it taken care of today, but it doesnt look like it. besides, Ive still got to do some laundry, finish unpacking, and work on revising the face finder. it needs to be ready to go within the next 3 days, so I dont really have time for running errands and trouble shooting my network connection. Ill try again one more time tonight, but I have a feeling Im out of luck. sigh...
