David is an occasional blogger, software engineer, Nintendo fanboy, liberal, news magazine addict, voracious TiVo user, and bibliophile. He was born in St. Louis, grew up in southern Indiana, and returned to St. Louis to attend Washington University. He hasn't managed to escape yet. He's a fan of free wine tastings, too many tv shows to name, and eating out. David makes his living developing web applications used internally by his employer. He doesn't blog about work because he's heard too many stories about that causing workplace troubles. There's more on the about page. |

There is a big meeting for the entire technology department in the auditorium right now. I'm skipping it. I went to one of these on my first day here at Whirlpool and was bored out of my mind. So this time I'm up here all by myself, browsing the Internet (things load much faster when you don't have to share your connection with 150 other people). Since I've been browsing the web for the past hour, I think I'll share a few links with you. If you haven't been over to Blogdex, you should check it out. I go by once a day or so. Okay, so I only have one link to share. Not the end of the world.
In reply to michael's post, I'm not really bothered by the name "Attack of the Clones" for the new Star Wars movie. It's no worse than "The Phantom Menace" or "The Empire Strikes Back." And I'm not sure how much inpact the name will have on the movie itself. I do find it interesting that this name was released just when we're hearing all this stuff about stem cells and cloning on the news.
This afternoon, assuming Jon calls me sometime soon, I will be going out to Ellis Park to watch (and bet on) a few races. The last time I bet on hosre races, I did rather poorly. Hopefully my luck has changed a bit since then.
