David is an occasional blogger, software engineer, Nintendo fanboy, liberal, news magazine addict, voracious TiVo user, and bibliophile. He was born in St. Louis, grew up in southern Indiana, and returned to St. Louis to attend Washington University. He hasn't managed to escape yet. He's a fan of free wine tastings, too many tv shows to name, and eating out. David makes his living developing web applications used internally by his employer. He doesn't blog about work because he's heard too many stories about that causing workplace troubles. There's more on the about page. |

summer is winding down for me, too. I move out of my dorm this weekend and into the apartment Ill be in during the coming semester. and if it werent for my distaste for packing, I would be greatly looking forward to it. Im still looking forward to the change in scenery. and having more than one room. although, I just realized that I might not be able to steal cable there, and I might not have my ethernet for a few days. and if this is the case, I am in serious trouble. I cant go back to network television. not during the summer. oh god.
well, actually, my research is getting to the point where we need to get something like a rough draft up and running within the next two weeks, and I still havent figured out a solution to the problems I mentioned earlier, not to mention my code is extremely messy and extremely uncommented. so among other things, I will have plenty to keep me busy for the rest of the summer.
but unlike dave, Im definitely in the mood for summer to wind down. mostly because Ive been stuck here by myself all summer, and lately my only face-to-face human contact comes from my boss. or the mcdonalds guy. I think were handling the isolation well enough, but we just want our friends to come back. dont we, my preciouss..
