David is an occasional blogger, software engineer, Nintendo fanboy, liberal, news magazine addict, voracious TiVo user, and bibliophile. He was born in St. Louis, grew up in southern Indiana, and returned to St. Louis to attend Washington University. He hasn't managed to escape yet. He's a fan of free wine tastings, too many tv shows to name, and eating out. David makes his living developing web applications used internally by his employer. He doesn't blog about work because he's heard too many stories about that causing workplace troubles. There's more on the about page. |

Good evening. I'm back from playing two hours of sand volleyball. There was a tornado warning for most of the evening, and it rained for about 40% of the time we were playing, but I still had a very good time. At times we couldn't even hear each other talking over the weather alert sirens that were going off all over the city, but that didn't deter us from playing. The only bad part of the evening was the fact that, because I was soaked from the rain, I got sand stuck all over me.
I chose to take a shower when I got home to get rid of the sand, but my friend Jared had a more interesting approach. On the way home he stopped at a self-service car wash. YOu know, one of those places where you hose your car off yourself. He got out of the car, took off his shirt, put some quarters in the machine, and had Luke spray him off with the high pressure hose. It was one of those times when you wish you had a camera. He was dancing around as Luke sprayed him off and the people in the apartment complex behind the car wash were staring at us from the windows of their apartments.
This entry doesn't seem to flow very well, but I have a splitting headache, so I'm just going to leave it as is and go to bed in a few minutes. I just have a few technical things about the site to mention. The time stamps at the top of each post are perma links, so if you should ever want to link to a specific entry on this site, you should be able to copy the link from there. Also, please report any broken links to the email address at the bottom of the page.
Have a safe and enjoyable evening. Good night.
