David is an occasional blogger, software engineer, Nintendo fanboy, liberal, news magazine addict, voracious TiVo user, and bibliophile. He was born in St. Louis, grew up in southern Indiana, and returned to St. Louis to attend Washington University. He hasn't managed to escape yet. He's a fan of free wine tastings, too many tv shows to name, and eating out. David makes his living developing web applications used internally by his employer. He doesn't blog about work because he's heard too many stories about that causing workplace troubles. There's more on the about page. |

Id like to apologize to our readers for my lack of a post yesterday. I was unable to connect to our server last night, and as a result, I blew off posting and went to bed. which is really a shame, because last night was incredibly interesting, full of really incredible things to post about, but Ive since completely forgotten what they were. actually, the most eventful thing I can think of was that on the drive back from evansville I came across a very entertaining freestyle rap competition on the radio. apparently you just called in and got to rap on the radio. some of them were really good. some of them were absolutely terrible. the sad thing is (at least I think its sad) is that even the really bad ones were ten times better than I am. (I think that bothers me more than it probably should.)
anyway, this evening was even worse as far as entertaining anecdotes goes. I went to work, where I attempted to get the computer to recognize ellipses in an image. it is not working so well at the moment. I gave up around five, (which means I have a day of debugging ahead of me tomorrow) and went to class. we are still covering some really basic stuff, and its not particularly interesting. ricky stayed pretty quiet today, because it was a pretty straightforward lecture, and since kwasny didnt ask the class too many questions ricky didnt have many opportunities to show off. also I told him that if he opened his mouth, I would beat him up after class. anyway, when I got back from class I did some homework, and talked on the phone, and thats about it. its a very dull life here. however, on the plus side, I managed to save some money by not eating anything today.
okay, this will have to do for tonight, since its pretty obvious that this post is not going to get any better. actually, I figure most of our readers stopped reading by the second paragraph. its understandable. Id have given up by now. but for those of you who are still reading, I respect your loyalty to me and to -273, so to express my appreciation, Im offering the first three people (excluding dave) who send me an email with "I deserve a prize" in the subject line some form of prize from me (which I will actually endeavor to make good).
and now I am off to sleep, content in the knowledge that even if someone read this entire post, no one ever emails me.
